That does not sound good, please let us know what the vet said. Hope everything is not so bad as it seems.

Keeping up with this Apollo, I have been praying and wishing and hoping. Yeah crying doesn't help directly but as for me I cry nearly every day and it's just how it is for now until there is a reason not to cry I guess. It's normal and natural and isn't wrong so don't worry about that. You have a right!
So does this mean Benny can't be on a grassy pasture like over fed horses with navicular? Or can he be out on pasture?

Wide Web sounds right, I'll maybe take a picture of them as I didn't get to chance to talk to.him when he was out Wednesday. I've been having kind of a tough week, and I've cried about Benny almost everyday. He still isn't sound again and it looking like I'm going to have the vet back out. He has something going on in his hind end and he is still sore in the front. I will talk to my vet about a partial de-nerving. It would be a good option for him once he is ready to go to where Apollo is. - Thank you, I appreciate it. Benny could be out on pasture, he isn't right now by my choice, my vet did say 'no more weight'. He might be the world's easiest keeping Thoroughbred. The reason he can't go down to my friends place until he is in a more stable position soundness wise is that my friend has a huge farm on a quarter section of land more or less in the middle of nowhere. Spring - fall the horses (3 of them) are turned out into this massive field and unless they wander up to the house, they don't checked on more than 3 or so times a week. So if Benny catches a shoe in the fence, it could be a while until he is found unless he rips it off. My friend also can't walk out to find him and give him his Previcox everyday which is what is keeping him comfortable at the moment. It isn't an issue in the winter because the horses are kept up at the barn in smaller pens and and put inside for the really cold or ugly nights. So giving him his Previcox isn't an issue. The quality of farrier in the area is....lackluster... at best. So even if we keep him shod he won't be getting any help in that respect. I don't want him wandering around sore or uncomfortable for 3/4 of the year.

Well we gave him the bute and there was a noticeable improvement, but it wasn't really the miracle that I was naively hoping for. With the bute he travels about 95% sound to the left and 70% sound to the right. He was also much more himself and a little bit sassy even. He is on a low dose for the time being while I wait for our next set of xrays to be done. I am not going to do the full 6 images per foot set like last time, only the 3/ foot should be lots to confirm what I am pretty sure I already know. Pending the outcome of those xrays, I am going to try one last hail Mary shoeing change and if he isn't pasture sound with minimal painkillers after than I will put him down.

It is no small thing that you lessened his pain as much as you did. No small thing at all (((( ))))
