Had to laugh at this ad for a molly mule:
For Sale: Jolene is a 8 year old Mare Mule . Been rode by men , women , and kids . She's sound in every way guaranteed. Does not spook was rode in Tupelo Christmas Parade with lights and bling all over her this past Christmas . Donkey Penned on her several times . Herded cattle. And she's been roped off of,Pasture roped, and in the box . I've crossed Creeks, Ditches , logs , rode her in some rough terrain , night ride a lot . This mule is bomb proof , u can ride her sober or very very un sober , if you have a sinking spell she will bring u home .she will not run off if u fall off . Stands to get on and off . Totes saddle bags, Rides Double 15.1 hands tall, easy to catch, loads, shoes, sheers. Neck Reins, Backs .I can send pics of Donkey penning, herding cattle, trail riding sober and un sober, etc.,etc. She'll be broke . She's seen everythang but tha Wind and been everywhere but the Electric Chair. $4,500.00
On a side note, this is the second time this week that I've read an ad mentioning donkey penning. The other had a video. It is exactly what it says, instead of roping a cow/calf, they rope donkeys. Not too sure how I feel about that.

I want that mule!! Penning is cutting 3 of a herd out of the pen. No roping with that.

Ah, ok. The other ad must have said donkey roping because they had a video of actually roping a donkey. It was a lot slower than with a cow and only threw the rope around the neck but no huge sudden stop.

I understand how roping and tying came to be and now its a sport but for practice too many work on the live animals way before they should have stopped using the dummies. At least in competition they don't over use each animal. I guess its one of those necessary evils but then its only because we don't think animals are as important as people.

Roping cattle is just.... I have no words for it , and I cant understand how can someone do it, same as rodeo(horse,bull)... I watched how young children roap small calfs, so sad, they threw then on a floar like they are rag dolls.

The practice comes from the western heritage, as we call it, when cattle roamed thousands of acres, no fences, and herds in the hundreds all mixed from different owners. The cowboys would all get together and brand their cattle, which is also nasty, but not other way to identify them, again, no fences or pastures. That came much later and still today in the west, i.e. South Dakota and west, ranching is much the same but on federally owned lands of thousands of acres.
I don't disagree that it is harsh but back then it was a necessity.

Back then yes, not now. They made it into a sport? Hurting animals is a sport? Same as those insane people in Spain that get amused by watching people kill bulls, and bull racing.... Brrr, I get chills even thinking about it. Hunting, rodeo, dog fights all those "sport" are disgusting to me. I also don't like horse sports: racing, show jumping, dressage. Because in every sport people only think about the money, otherwise they would not be not puting their animals in to so much tress, drogs, trenings... just for fun, or because they love it. Those high profile sport people in horse world , they can say they love horses... for me that is a bunch of crap.

Just to be clear, I wasn't laughing about the donkey penning in the ad I posted, I was laughing about the un-sober parts.

I have no problems with drinking (hic) , just putting it out there in an ad is different. I love the "very very un sober" and what is a sinking spell? Does it have anything to do with the falling off part? Does sound like the owner has experienced these episodes rather frequently.

Unsober or the lack of sobriety. I love the slant. Theyust be a politician of some kind. I wish I could do the unsober stuff but I have no capacity so it isn't any fun. I feel bad because I'm missing out LOL

She sounds like a great mule. If I were looking I might go see her.
hug.s - a lot of people living in Louisiana have the minds (and corruption) of our politicians. I mean what can you expect from a state who's governor spent several years in prison and then, once released, ran for state senate (thank goodness he lost that one).

Do they even try to teach proper English/grammar any more? Even news reporters, people in positions that should require their corespondents to speak properly.

Apparently not. I've read that ad several times now and I still don't fully understand what she is saying.

Now, "the sign on his but" my first thought was a brand, but then it moves right in to coming with a saddle? Punctuation shore do help.

LOL, that's where I get caught up as well. And I love the term "cash money" - what kind of money does she think I will bring, monopoly money? (yes, I know it means she won't take anything but cash; but isn't there some term for phrases that are redundant like that?)

they understand "CASH MONEY" well enough. people just have no sense of pride when doing things. all it takes is a few minutes to spell check or have someone else type the ad for you , when the ads are that crude i wonder what they are really selling??
