Here are a couple of photos from the equine affair Pat Parelli was doing a demo with a girl and her horse she was having issues with. i could only stand to watch the session for 15 minutes before i got bored. We walked around the trade booths which were in the hundreds. anything you can ask for for horse. human and gifts or just whims. saw chris cox did not get photo of him jane savoie was there also. Mark Rashid also but his books were 35.00 along with so many others that i could not see them all. than went to the barns so my son and daughter in law could look at some of the show horses. and drafts, lippizzons mustangs. paints morgans. icelandics. fjords. connemerras. miniatures. mules. appys. arabians. thourghbreds. shires. gypsy vanners. all in all a great day and some wood carvings that are beautiful and amazing to look at.

Wow to those carvings. Are they the kind done with a chainsaw?
There is a man not far from us who takes logs and makes the most beautiful soaring birds, Eagles and hawks in flight, sitting regally staring into space....once painted you would swear they were alive... Those horse heads make me think the same thing of this artist...just beautiful what can be done.
Thanks for sharing part of your day with us.

I finally got to this thread. Those carvings sure are amazing. Yeah, listening to horse-people gets on my nerves, show me and you'll have my attention for a long time.

Very cool. Glad to hear you had a good time. So, how much money was spent? I don't think I could go to something like that without spending money.

Never heard of muck sox before. I usually get smartwool sox from sierratradingpost.com. I strongly prefer knee highs, can't stand crew socks.

I actually toyed with the idea of going for Saturday the 15th. I was in the area to visit family, and we could've gone for at least some of the day, with my two nieces both under 10. So it might've been fun, but I was too afraid it would just end up being boring for them. It woulud have been one thing if they were totally horse crazy or already taking riding lessons or something, but instead they are moderately interested in asking after my big guys and eager about riding my guys some day, just not horse crazy like I was at their age. So I decided it wasn't going to be worth it.

They would have enjoyed it there were so many things to keep little people busy especially seeing the breeds of horses all under one roof and walking thru the barn to see the horses that were being used in the demos. plus the shopping. all geared for non horse people also. well perhaps another time. and you were so close. we could have gotten together i bet you passed right by my town. lol
