Mine doesn't look like that, he's a lower percentage:) If your dogs have any resemblance to those in the picture... they are BEAUTIFUL!! .......

Ugh, should have shut my mouth, when we went to bed last night I said to hubby canagan seems a bit unsettled tonight, 2:40am he has a seizure, couldn't sleep(me)after that so here I am up at 5:15am, hubby was up before 5 as he's still on this shutdown, I'm exhausted, kennels mobbed, dog coming for grooming, thank god its windy at least so I can dry kennels out today.
Horrid feeling I forgot to give canagan his Meds yesterday morning, I did last night but it doesn't take much to upset the balance:(

My best friend's dog has had seizures for the past 8 years or so. The first two he had were grand mal seizures and they nearly lost him. He's on meds now and is doing great.
As for diabetes, if blood sugar is low, honey also works, at least for cats, so would assume for dogs. For cats they say to place on the gums or under the tongue. This saved Marble's life when I accidentally gave him too much insulin and he went hypoglycemic. Luckily I had read about using honey and we had some, so as we rushed him to the emergency clinic (after finding him unresponsive at 3:00AM) I was putting honey on his gums every 60-90 seconds. In the time it took to get from the car to them taking him back, like 2 minutes, they nearly lost him as his blood sugar was so low - they couldn't even get a reading when they did blood work. They said if we hadn't given him the honey, he wouldn't have made it to the clinic. I'm just glad I'm paranoid and went to check on him - he'd been acting a bit "off" all evening but no major warning bells. If I hadn't checked, we would have found him dead the next morning.
LD - hope Canagan feels better. Don't feel too bad, we all forget to give meds once in a while (or give too much in my case!)
